Wash and Fold: Bed-Stuy Pickup and Delivery at Your Door
Fold NY offers wash and fold Bed-Stuy residents can actually rely on: our own drivers pick up your laundry, we wash, dry and fold it at our laundromat, and we bring it back to your stoop, usually the next day. Pickup and delivery are free, and booking takes a couple of minutes at foldny.com or in the Fold NY app.
We’re practically neighbors. Our walk-in laundromat sits at 53-25 Metropolitan Ave in Ridgewood, Queens, just past Bushwick on the other side of the borough line. Every Bed-Stuy order is washed there by our own team, never outsourced, and driven back by our own drivers.
Brownstone Living Without a Washer
Bedford-Stuyvesant is known for its rows of brownstones and limestone townhouses, especially in Stuyvesant Heights and along the blocks around Herbert Von King Park. They’re beautiful homes, but many have been divided into apartments over the years, and in-unit laundry is the exception, not the rule. Add the walk-up apartment buildings along Fulton Street, Nostrand Avenue and Broadway, and a lot of Bed-Stuy residents end up carrying laundry bags up and down stoops every week.
Pickup and delivery solves that. Families with full schedules, people working from home who don’t want to lose half a day, renters on the top floor of a four-story walk-up, landlords and hosts turning over linens: everyone gets their time back. Set up a recurring pickup and laundry simply happens. Students, nurses and shift workers who can’t plan around a laundromat’s busiest hours like that the bag just goes out and comes back, and households doing several loads a week skip the stoop-to-laundromat shuffle entirely.
Why Bed-Stuy Chooses Fold NY
A neighborhood laundromat, not a faceless app
Fold NY is a real, local laundromat with self-service machines, drop-off service and our own delivery drivers. When you book with us, your clothes go to our store and come back with our team. No hand-offs to a facility you’ve never heard of.
Black-owned and women-owned
Fold NY is a Black-owned, women-owned business. For a lot of people in Bed-Stuy, a neighborhood with deep roots in Black ownership and community institutions, that matters, and we’re proud of it.
Ozone in every load
We wash every load with ozone, a natural sanitizer that helps remove bacteria, odors and allergens. It lets us use fewer harsh chemicals, which is a low-chemical, fabric-friendly way to get clothes truly clean.
Handled your way
Hypoallergenic or fragrance-free detergent, cold wash and hang-dry are all available. Save your preferences once in your account and we follow them on every order.
Bulky bedding, no problem
Our large 80 lb commercial washers handle comforters, duvets and heavy blankets that won’t fit in a home machine.
Close to home
Because our laundromat is just over the Bushwick line in Ridgewood, Bed-Stuy is one of the closest neighborhoods we serve. That short trip is part of why next-day turnaround is our standard here, and it means your laundry isn’t spending hours crossing the city in the back of a van. It’s the same store, the same team and the same drivers on every order, so you get to know who is handling your things.
