Wash and Fold in the Financial District and Battery Park City
Lower Manhattan has changed a lot. Streets that used to empty out at 6PM are now full of residents, many of them living in high-rises and former office towers turned into apartments. Fold NY’s wash and fold Financial District service is built for that crowd: our own drivers pick up from your building, we wash, dry and fold your laundry, and we deliver it back, usually the next day. One thing worth saying clearly: your laundry is not washed downtown. Fold NY operates a walk-in laundromat at 53-25 Metropolitan Ave in Ridgewood, Queens, and every FiDi and Battery Park City order is washed there by our staff. Our drivers handle both legs of the trip. The washing is never outsourced to another operator.
High-Rise Living and the Laundry Room Shuffle
Much of the Financial District’s housing is in tall rental and condo buildings: older office buildings converted to apartments along Wall Street, William Street and Broad Street, and newer towers near the Seaport and Fulton Street. Some include in-unit machines, but plenty don’t, and a shared laundry room on a single floor can mean riding the elevator back and forth all afternoon. Battery Park City, with its riverside buildings along South End Avenue, Rector Place and North End Avenue, has its own mix of rentals and condos with similar setups.
The people who live here are often stretched thin. Some work long hours in nearby offices; others are families who chose Battery Park City for the parks and the Esplanade and would rather spend weekends at Rockefeller Park than in a laundry room. Ozone-sanitized loads
We wash every load with ozone, a natural sanitizer that helps eliminate bacteria, odors and allergens. With ozone doing part of the work, we can use fewer harsh chemicals. The result is a low-chemical clean that’s gentle on fabric and good for gym clothes, towels and bedding that need a deeper refresh.
Preferences on file
Choose hypoallergenic or fragrance-free detergent, cold wash, or hang-dry for specific items. Your choices are saved in your account and applied every time.
Space for oversized bedding
Large 80 lb commercial machines in our store handle comforters, duvets and other bulky bedding that won’t fit in a building’s stacked units.

Services Available Downtown
- Next-day wash and fold. Your everyday laundry, washed, dried, folded and returned, usually the next day, through our wash and fold service.
- Same-day laundry. In selected ZIP codes, same-day laundry service picks up between 9AM and 12PM and returns between 7PM and 9PM. Enter your address at checkout to see if it applies to you.
- Green dry cleaning. Suits, dress shirts and other dry-clean-only pieces can go through our green dry cleaning. It’s perc-free and uses eco-friendly solvents, and each garment is inspected and hand-finished. Typical turnaround is two days, and rush is available on request.
- Commercial laundry. Hotels, gyms, restaurants, salons, spas, productions and property managers in Lower Manhattan can book custom pickup and delivery through our commercial laundry program. We handle thousands of pounds per day, and every load is ozone sanitized.
How Pickup and Delivery Work
Book online. Choose a pickup time at foldny.com or in the Fold NY app, as a one-off or on a repeating schedule.
We wash in Ridgewood. Our driver brings it to 53-25 Metropolitan Ave, where it’s washed with ozone, dried and folded the way you’ve asked.
It comes home. Your clean laundry is delivered back, usually the next day, and the app keeps you posted on its progress.
