Wash and Fold: Lower East Side and East Village Pickup and Delivery
If you live on the Lower East Side or in the East Village, you already know the laundry routine: lug a bag down four or five flights, walk it to the nearest laundromat, wait, fold on a sticky counter, carry it all back up. Fold NY’s wash and fold Lower East Side service takes that whole trip off your plate. Our own drivers pick up your laundry, we wash, dry and fold it, and we bring it back to your door, usually the next day. Pickup and delivery are free.
Your laundry is washed at our own laundromat at 53-25 Metropolitan Ave in Ridgewood, Queens, which happens to sit at the other end of the M train from Delancey St–Essex St. Our drivers handle the trip both ways, and the washing is never outsourced.
Built for Walk-Ups, Tenements and Tight Studios
Downtown east of the Bowery is some of the oldest housing stock in Manhattan. Blocks like Orchard, Ludlow, Eldridge and Rivington are lined with five- and six-story tenement walk-ups, and the streets off Avenues A, B and C in Alphabet City are much the same. These buildings were never designed for in-unit washers, and most have no laundry room at all. Even in newer rentals around Essex Crossing and along Houston Street, a shared machine on another floor is the best many people get.
